Birthday Traditions

Growing up, I had a bit of a birthday curse being born around Thanksgiving. The big holiday always overshadowed everything and a lot of people tend to forget about it. It's one of those silly little things that can nag us as life goes on. Last year I decided to make my birthday more memorable and go to my favorite place on earth, Yosemite.

Nothing fancy for this trip, just camping and enjoying the valley with my camera for a couple days. Ok, maybe a birthday lunch of bourbon and bacon, but that's about it for celebration.  This year was only the second year I've celebrated there, but this is definitely the start of a new tradition. The weather is cool, the summer crowds are gone, and Fall is beautiful in the park. I was only there for a couple of days this time around, but I made some great images.

I'm looking forward to to more trips back this winter. After four years of drought and El Niño on the horizon, I'm hoping to get those snow covered Yosemite photos I've been dreaming of for years.
